Design Enginneer Mechanical
Job Description:
- Expertly perform mechanical load and energy calculations using industry-standard software such as Trace3D Plus, HAP or IES, EQuest, and Design Builder.
- Experience in Revit and ACAD to craft accurate duct and pipe layouts, ensuring robust and healthy models.
- Thoroughly study client-provided layout plans, equipment details, site-related information, and investigation reports to inform the preparation of an effective HVAC base design package.
- Collaborate with Electrical, Plumbing, Civil, Architectural, Structural, Acoustical, and other interdisciplinary departments, providing valuable HVAC input for smooth coordination.
- Independently and with a team carry out all phases of HVAC design, from conception to construction documents, for a range of projects including Retail, Commercial, Low/Mid/High Rise Residential buildings, Schools, Renovations, Recreational facilities, and Pool HVAC projects.
- Develop comprehensive HVAC system schematics through all design stages.
- Expertise/Proficient in HVAC calculation related to all sorts of Air, Hydronic or Steam systems.
- Handle both conceptual and detailed design of HVAC systems, creating engineering designs, drawings, and documents that meet project requirements.
- Plan and organize work efficiently within the provided timeframe.
- Prepare detailed data sheets, specifications, and material requisitions for diverse HVAC systems, including Chillers, Boilers, Pumps, AHUs, Package units, VAVs, Exhaust fans, and Air Terminal Devices.
- Respond proactively to RFIs, review shop drawings, and conduct code review and analysis.
- Stay up to date with ASHRAE 90.1 Standards and International Building Code, applying this knowledge in independent technical decision-making.
- Conduct compliance checks to ensure projects are ready for permitting.
- Regularly use IT tools, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, for efficient project documentation and communication.
- Communicate effectively, utilizing exceptional verbal and written skills.
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent with a sound knowledge of
engineering fundamentals.
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer within building services, with a minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant experience.
- AutoCAD & Revit proficient.
- Proficient knowledge of psychometrics.
- IGBC AP, USGBC LEED, WELL AP a plus.
- Good communication skills essential for team-based working.
- Excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced environment.
- Must be highly motivated, proactive, and willing to take on new challenges.
